Cpp//e//vb?

I need a good way to learn to code and i was wonding if yall could help me out by telling me a good place to learn codeing for free and which code is the best to use for app design and publication... what are the pros and cons of each type of code --thanks for yalls help

Cpp//e//vb?
I am not sure //e// means e Language used in specman. If yes, put it at the last. That is really verification language... ofcouce you can use it for other purpose but it is just expensive..

If you have compiler, you can learn vb.. but vb is just for windows.. and it requires some concept of programming to build good vb program.

I would personally recommend to go with CPP. That will help you a lot in future, if you understand its Object Oriented Programming concept.

Download Visual Studio for free from http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/expres...

Hope this helps..

C/C++ generic enough; it is the granddaddy of most modern language anyway.

Python however it is foreign enough from most of what you can find for free.

Java very good and complete but it is not Microsoft so not as widely adopted in areas where MS has its hands on.

C# also very good and complete and it is Microsoft but .Net is too new to be of wide uses, both it and Java are delegated for server use even more so with .Net

VB and god forbid Perl is not for beginner; VB has too much of "optionals" and not modern enough, VB.Net is something else and can be thought as equal to C#
